I wasn't going to leave until Thursday, but I just got an email from my future sister-in-law that the festivities are starting Wednesday. So, I'm loading up my boys and leaving tomorrow. I won't be uploading any pictures or recipes until next week. I'm a little bit nervous. I want to stay on a keto diet, but I'm not sure I can handle it with a wedding this decadent. I'll probably update the blog, so I'll have to be accountable. I'm just not sure. I'm pretty happy with my weight though. I'm right around 113. I have a few bruises because my skin is thinner and I may not be eating enough greens. I might start taking a potassium supplement. I had a calorie cheat day, and I did have quite a few carbs. I only ate keto food though. I couldn't have gone over 100, but I might have gotten up to 75. I am not doing anymore "cheating" until the night of the wedding. I am definitely going to try that cake. There is also supposed to be pizza, and I'm definitely drinking wine. I think no matter what I do that I can be back into ketosis 3 or 4 days later at the very most. I'll see you next week and have plenty of fun wedding food photos to post.
I went to the first wedding party last night. It was awesome. I had about 3 drinks of vodka, and I only ate cheese. The cheese was so good. There was brie, cheddar, and Gouda. I was really proud of myself. Tonight there is a BBQ and I am fairly confident I can keep it low carb. I really need to stay strict keto because the last two days have been filled with calorie cheating. I ate a ton of almonds and "low-carb" tortillas yesterday. I made the 4g carb tortillas into chips then I made pork BBQ nachos. They were amazing, but in 24 hours I ate 7 servings of almonds, 7 tortillas, and, 5 servings of pork rinds. It's all low carb, but the calories are adding up. I also ate a bunch of cheese at the party. I checked my ketones today, and it says I'm still in ketosis. I was relieved and motivated to keep it strict keto until the wedding. I'm still going to go buy some spanks, so that I'll look my best for my brother's big day. It's so close!
I'm thinking about carb cycling for a month after the wedding due to the breastfeeding. I will still have many keto recipes because I will be having at least 3 very low carb days a week, 2 medium days, and 1 higher carb day. I will still be keeping it under 150 on the high carb days. I will be incorporating things like; apples, sweet potatoes, bananas, granola, yogurt, carrots, watermelon, and various other fruits. I may also eat air popped popcorn, oatmeal, grits, brown rice, and other whole grains. I haven't decided about cereal or tortillas yet. That would also let me make higher carb foods for my 2 year old and eat his leftovers. I hate wasting food.
